About us
The Mana Dorks is a non-profit organization created by a teacher and student members of the Board Games Club at Ecole Jules Verne, in Vancouver. We realized that times can be tough and games are not often a priority for families with limited financial resources.
Some kids do not have the opportunity to be exposed to a variety of board games, and we want to correct that. We aim to bring Magic: the Gathering to every kid in Canada.

To do so, we provide Magic: the Gathering beginner kits to those interested in starting a gaming group in their community, whether they are adults working or volunteering with children or students looking to form a club, for free.
Why did we choose this name ?
Mana dorks in Magic: the Gathering are creatures that provide mana and facilitate casting powerful spells. They embody the organization’s mission of assisting others.

One of the first Magic: the Gathering cards I remember holding was a white-bordered Birds of Paradise. My cousin gave it to me when he learned that I was interested in learning to play the game and the memory stuck with me since then !
